Summer Archives Intern Delves Into Racial Reconciliation History
Caroline Schow, our summer archives intern, recently completed her time with us. During her internship, she examined the organization and condition of the archives, assisted with digitization and culling efforts, and examined stories from The Tennessee Churchman and The East Tennessee Episcopalian. As a final project for her internship, she studied a particular set of documents from the diocesan Racism Committee that addressed the long-standing discriminatory application and admittance practices of the Knoxville area country clubs. Read her
article here.

We give thanks to Caroline for her time with us at the diocesan house. If you or someone you know might be interested in an internship, practicum, or volunteer position to assist in our archives, contact Bro. Andrew Morehead at amorehead@dioet.org.

St. Luke's to Host East Tennessee Authors with Book Signing
Sunday, July 20, After 11:00 AM Service
St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Knoxville
The parishioners of St. Luke’s extend an invitation to all who wish to attend a book signing for two of their members who are authors! The event will be held at St. Luke’s Church (600 Chestnut St. Knoxville, TN) after the 11:00 am service on July 20, 2025. Tim Miller authored The Silence of the Lamb: Exploring the Hiddenness of Christ and God, focusing particular attention on the ideas of Process Theology and Open and Relational Theology. These recent theologies envision a God who loves, who longs to relate to us, and who is in time sharing our suffering with us. Also, Mother Gayle Browne authored Wild Geese Rising, in which she writes about how prayer arises as a way of beholding and befriending life. This book transforms the
practice of “saying our prayers” into an instinctive way of living prayer as moment-by-moment contemplative action. There will be food and drinks, an opportunity to buy the books and to have them signed, as well as to hear from the two authors about the books. No RSVP required.
